Excessive Daytime Sleepiness Disorder

Not getting enough sleep, sometimes by choice, or sometimes from underlying sleep conditions. When the body’s natural circadian pacemaker comes at odds with the environment, excessive daytime sleepiness disorder can occur. This can be caused most commonly by jet lag, shift work, or another sleep disorder that is causing napping during the day such as narcolepsy, sleep apnea, idiopathic hypersomnia or restless legs syndrome. Disorders such as clinical or atypical depression can also cause excessive daytime sleepiness disorder.
